Anhui Shucheng Huazhu Industrial Co., Ltd. is located in the Economic Development Zone (former site) of Kongji Town, Shucheng County, known as the “Home of Bamboo Weaving.” Its office building is in the county seat. Founded in June 1999, the company covers an area of 20 mu, has fixed assets of RMB 5 million, and employs 485 people. It is capable of producing more than 980 varieties of bamboo products in four major series: bamboo tableware, bamboo handicrafts, bamboo furniture, and bamboo packaging materials. Its products are mainly sold to more than 30 countries and regions, including Japan, Europe and the United States, and the Middle East. Relying on local bamboo resource advantages and a long history of bamboo weaving, the company is engaged in the production of bamboo products. With the principle of “focusing on product quality,” it actively explores international markets, and its products are in short supply. The company has annual exports of RMB 46 million and realizes profits and taxes of RMB 4.5 million. In 2000, it was rated one of the “Top 200 Private Enterprises in Anhui” and has been awarded the honorary title of “Advanced Private Enterprise” many times by the county Party committee and county government. Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council and Prime Minister Mocumbi of Mozambique have visited the company successively and given it high praise.
